HAMDEN, Conn. – Junior guard Zaid Hearst (Bethesda, Md.) of the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team was recently named to the MAAC CollegeHoopsDaily.com Team for the month of November, announced on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013. Hearst led the Bobcats to a 4-1 record throughout the month, while averaging a double-double during the five-game stint.
Hearst averaged 16.0 points and 10.8 rebounds in five starts for the Bobcats. He had double-doubles in three straight games to close out the month, which included a career performance against Hampton University on Nov. 20. Hearst totaled a career-high in points (22) and rebounds (14), while shooting 9-of-16 from the floor and 4-of-6 from long range. He also set career highs with his four threes and eight offensive rebounds.
Hearst led the MAAC in rebounds and was top 10 in scoring, free-throw percentage, field goal percentage, and defensive rebounds. Hearst is averaging 15.0 points per game, which leads the team, and brings in 10.7 rebounds per game, which is second on the team. His stellar play has the Bobcats off to a 4-2 start, one of the better starts in recent history.

In the team's most recent outing, Hearst collected his fourth straight double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Boston U. He has recorded 10 or more rebounds in his last five games and has scored 10 or more points in 11 of his last 13 games dating back to last season.
Quinnipiac returns to action on Friday, Dec. 6 with its inaugural Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game. The Bobcats host Fairfield University at 8:30 p.m. at the TD Bank Sports Center on York Hill Campus.
