Quinnipiac University men's basketball head coach Tom Moore and assistant coach Scott Burrell volunteered their time for a special event on Thursday, May 22, 2014. Moore and Burrell participated in "Playing Hoops With Heroes", a 3v3 Basketball Tournament featuring members of the United State Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, FDNY, NYPD and PAPD. Ike Azotam Selected as a Finalist for the 2014 Lou Henson Award
Quinnipiac University senior forward Ike Azotam (Boston, Mass.) was named one of 30 finalists for the Lou Henson Player of the Year Award, which is presented annually to the top mid-major player in Division I college basketball. The award is named in honor of Lou Henson, who retired after a spectacular coaching career that lasted 41 years.

For the fourth time in the last five seasons, the Quinnipiac University men’s basketball team (20-11, 14-6 MAAC) has qualified for national postseason tournament play. The Bobcats have accepted a bid into the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT), and will take on cross-town rival Yale on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the John J. Lee Amphitheater in New Haven.

Senior Ike Azotam (Boston, Mass.) was selected to the National Basketball Association of Coaches (NABC) All-District I First Team on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, a laurel that recognizes the nation’s best collegiate basketball student-athletes. Selected and votes on by coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across America. The 252 student-athletes, from 25 districts, are eligible for the NABC Coaches’ Division I All-America teams.

Men’s Basketball Falls to Marist in Season-Finale; Claim No. 3 Seed in Upcoming 2014 MAAC Tournament
The Quinnipiac University men's basketball team wrapped up regular-season play on Sunday afternoon, and will head into the 2014 MAAC Tournament as the No. 3 seed next weekend. The Bobcats dropped their final conference game to Marist College, 103-72, at the McCann Athletic Center in Poughkeepsie. Zaid Hearst (Bethesda, Md.) led Quinnipiac with 25 points and became the 36th player in program history to score 1,000 points.

The loss drops Quinnipiac to 19-9 overall and 14-5 in conference play, but still have the Bobcats in control of second place in the league standings.

The Quinnipiac University men's basketball team did what all successful teams need to do – win on the road in a hostile environment. The Bobcats topped Manhattan College, 90-86, in an overtime thriller on Sunday afternoon in downtown Manhattan. Three Quinnipiac players – Zaid Hearst (Bethesda, Md.), Umar Shannon (Atlantic City, N.J.) and Ike Azotam (Boston, Mass.) – eclipsed the 20-point plateau in the triumph. “I was really thrilled with the play of Ousmane Drame tonight, he was terrific,” commented Quinnipiac men’s basketball head coach Tom Moore after Thursday night’s game. Drame posted career highs of 21 rebounds and seven blocked shots in helping the Bobcats to a 70-61 victory over Monmouth at the TD Bank Sports Center. The seven blocks set a new QU Division I program record, while his 21 rebounds matched a Division I record that stood for some seven years. Drame added 15 points and collected his 15th career double-double in the team’s fourth win in their last five games.

Bobcats Come Up Short at La Salle in ESPN Tip-Off Marathon, 73-67
Senior Ike Azotam (Boston, Mass.) and freshman Kasim Chandler (Newark, N.J.) shined in the Bobcats' 2013-14 national television debut on Tuesday morning, but it was La Salle University who held on to escape with a 73-67 victory over the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team at Tom Gola Arena. The game was aired live on ESPN2 as part of the 2013 College Hoops Tip-off Marathon.

For the first time in program history, the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team (1-0, 0-0 MAAC) will be a part of ESPN's College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon. The Bobcats will take on La Salle University (0-1, 0-0 Atlantic 10) in Philadelphia, Pa. on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 9 a.m. The game will be aired live on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com. It marks the first meeting between the two programs.

Quinnipiac Men’s Basketball Featured in Local Newspapers
The Quinnipiac University men’s basketball team won its season-opener on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Hartford Hawks by a score of 82-77 in the first game of the 2013 Connecticut 6 Classic. The Bobcats improved to 1-0 for the sixth time in the last seven seasons, and now have a 17-5 all-time record against the Hawks.

The Quinnipiac University men's basketball team (0-0,0-0 MAAC) kicks off the 2013-14 campaign on Saturday, November 9, 2013 in the fifth annual Connecticut 6 Classic at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Conn. For the second straight year, the Bobcats drew the first game of the tournament and will take on the University of Hartford (0-0, 0-0 AE) at 3 p.m. The CT 6 will also feature two other games throughout the day. CCSU and Yale follow the Bobcats and Hawks at 5:30 p.m.; and Fairfield and Sacred Heart conclude the invitational in the nightcap at 8 p.m.

Second Half Surge Sends Men’s Basketball Past Hartford, 82-77
Led by Ike Azotam’s (Boston, Mass.) 20-point, 13-rebound double-double, the Quinnipiac University men's basketball team mounted a tremendous comeback to erase an 11 point first-half deficit and defeat Hartford, 82-77, on Saturday afternoon in the first game of the 2013 Connecticut 6 Classic. With the win, Quinnipiac improved to 4-1 since the tournament began back in 2009 and 6-1 in season-openers under the direction of head coach Tom Moore.

Men’s Basketball Takes Top Slot in CT 6 Classic Pre-Tourney Poll
Quinnipiac University was selected as the top team among the Connecticut 6 schools in the annual preseason men’s basketball coaches’ poll. The rest of the ranking included the University of Hartford as the second team, followed by Yale University, Fairfield University, Central Connecticut, and Sacred Heart University. The ranking was based upon the vote of the six head coaches.

Quinnipiac Athletics Announces 2013-14 Television and Bobcats Unleashed Schedule
The Quinnipiac University Department of Athletics & Recreation has announced the 2013-14 television schedule for the upcoming men’s ice hockey and men’s and women’s basketball season. Quinnipiac will have 19 total games featured live on ESPN3, ESPNU, New England Sports Network (NESNHD), Sportsnet NY (SNY) and Fox College Sports (FCS). The Quinnipiac University men’s basketball team recently enjoyed a trip to Bear Path Elementary School as part of QU's Positive Play Initiative, which is designed to encourage community service by Quinnipiac's student-athletes, coaches and staff. Several Bobcats, players and coaches, met with first grade students for a few hours during the middle of the day to partake in various activities.
