Bobcats Give Back
The Quinnipiac University men's basketball team has invited Joseph Verillo of Clintonville Elementary School and his mother, Maria Buontempo, to the Bobcats game against the Red Raiders. Not too long ago Joseph lost his father in a tragic car accident. Joseph and his father use to attend all of the Bobcats home games, so Quinnipiac has decided to donate two season tickets to both Joseph and his mother. The men's basketball team will present the tickets to Joseph and his mother on Wednesday night.

Fans can also tune into AM 1220 WQUN Radio or access live stats as well.
All-Time Against Colgate
The Bobcats hold a 2-1 record all-time against the Raiders. The series began with a home-and-away contract for the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons, where each squad won on their home court. However, Quinnipiac broke the trend and earned bragging rights with an 80-70 win last season in Hamilton, N.Y. Ike Azotam led the way with 20 points and 14 rebounds as four Bobcats finished in double-figures in the triumph.
Scouting The Red Raiders
A tough non-conference slate has left the Colgate Red Raiders with a 3-5 record through the first eight games. Three of Colgate's five losses are from a "Power Conference" opponent - a list that includes No. 22 Illinois, Marquette and No. 6 Syracuse. Most recently, the Red Raiders fell on the road to Cornell, 70-63, in Ithaca, N.Y. Murphy Burnatowski led all scorers with 24 points, while Brandon James earned himself his second double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 boards. For the season, Burnatowski is averaging 17.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, while Pat Moore is bringing in just over 15 points per outing. Live and die by the three-point shot, Colgate makes more than nine threes per game while shooting at a 41 percent clip. Burnatowski and Moore have combined for 47 three-point field goals, making better than 45 percent of their combined attempts.
Last Time Out Against Lehigh
Garvey Young scored a team-high 16 points and power forward Ike Azotam recorded his 18th career double-double, but the nation's leading scorer C.J. McCollum powered the Lehigh Mountain Hawks to a 77-66 win at the TD Bank Sports Center on Tuesday night (11/27). Quinnipiac's front court sustained a plus-eight margin on the glass, 40-32, and edged the Mountain Hawks in scoring underneath, 28-26. The Bobcats went 22-of-55 from the floor (40 percent) compared to 25-of-55 (45.5 percent) of Lehigh, but the big discrepancy came from the free-throw line. Quinnipiac left 11 points at the line after going 19-of-30 from the stripe. The Mountain Hawks were also very efficient from long-range – going 8-of-20 compared to 3-of-11 from the hosting Bobcats.
Career-Best For Garvey
Garvey Young finished with a career-high 16 points, six rebounds and two steals against Lehigh on Tuesday night (11/27). Earlier in the season, Young matched his previous career-high of 15 points in a win against Hartford (11/10). The senior guard is averaging 10.3 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
No. 18 For Azotam
Ike Azotam collected 13 points and 13 rebounds against Lehigh (11/27) – serving as his 18th career double-double. Azotam ranks third among active NEC players for the category.
Garvey Young went a perfect 10-for-10 at the free-throw line against Lehigh (11/27). It was the first time a player went made 10 free-throws without a miss since Justin Rutty accomplished the feat with an 11-for-11 effort against Lehigh back in 2010.
The Bobcats will wrap up their three-game home stand on Saturday, December 8 at the TD Bank Sports Center. Quinnipiac will take on 2012 NCAA Tournament contender Vermont at 4 p.m. – a game that will be televised live on NESN.
