The Bobcats took their only lead of the game, 10-9, when Dave Johnson (Jackson, N.J.) knocked down a pair of free throws with three and a half minutes remaining in the first quarter to cap an 8-0 Quinnipiac run. But Antwerp countered with seven of the next nine points to take a five-point advantage after the first quarter.
After Antwerp scored six straight points in the second quarter to build an 11-point cushion, the Bobcats went on a 10-2 run to close to within three points. But Antwerp scored the final four points of the half to take a seven-point lead into the locker room.
The Antwerp lead grew to 12 points with a minute and a half remaining in the third quarter. But a 12-0 Quinnipiac run spanning the next five minutes of play tied the game at 47-47 with 6:24 remaining in regulation.
But Antwerp scored on its next possession and never relinquished the lead.
The Bobcats return to action Saturday, when they face Charenton in Paris, France.
