HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University men's basketball team will depart on a European Tour through The Netherlands, Belgium and France starting Saturday and running through Aug. 24. The team will play four games during the stretch, one each in The Netherlands and Belgium, as well as a pair of games in Paris.
"We're extremely excited for our trip to Paris, Amsterdam and Belgium, beginning this weekend," said Head Coach Tom Moore. "The basketball and cultural experiences should have a benefit to our team this year and provide a lifelong memory for the young men in our program. I want to thank President Lahey and my athletic director, Jack McDonald, as this trip is yet another example of their outstanding commitment to our program."
After arriving in Amsterdam on Sunday morning, the team will spend two days getting acclimated to Europe before playing its first game, Tuesday night (Aug. 17) against the Meppel Red Giants. After traveling through Brugge to Ghent, Belgium, the Bobcats will then face St. Jan - Antwerp on Thursday night, Aug. 19.
The team then departs for Paris on Friday morning, Aug. 20, and will spend the remainder of the trip there. The Bobcats will face Charenton on Saturday, Aug. 21, before closing out the trip with a contest against Cergy on Aug. 23.
