March 1, 2010 HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac University men's basketball junior forward Justin Rutty (Newburgh, N.Y.) has been named Choice Hotels NEC Co-Player of the Week for the second time this season after compiling his league-leading 13^th and 14^th double-doubles of the season for the Bobcats last week. Joining Rutty in receiving the award was Mount St. Mary's junior forward Shawn Atupem.

The 2009 First Team All-NEC selection averaged 19.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in a pair of Quinnipiac wins as the Bobcats clinched their first NEC Regular Season Championship. He began the week with 25 points on 11-for-14 shooting to go along with 12 rebounds, Thursday against Monmouth. He added 14 points and 13 rebounds, Saturday night at Fairleigh Dickinson.

Rutty remains second in the nation in offensive rebounding (4.9 offensive rebounds per game) and 13^th in rebounds per game (10.8 rpg.).
