HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac University senior wing James Feldeine (New York, N.Y.) has been named the Choice Hotels Northeast Conference Player of the Week for the fourth time in his career and the second time this season, the league office today announced. Feldeine averaged 24.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game and moved into 17th all-time and fourth at Division I on the Quinnipiac career scoring list as the Bobcats swept their NEC Rivalry Week series with Sacred Heart.
Feldeine shot 60.7 percent (17-28) from the floor for the week, including 42.9 percent (3-7) from long range. He began the week with 27 points on 11-for-14 shooting (3-4 3-pt. FG) as the Bobcats cruised past Sacred Heart, 86-71, Thursday night in Fairfield. He followed with 22 points and eight rebounds as Quinnipiac came from behind to beat the Pioneers, 90-87, Saturday afternoon in Hamden. 18 of his 22 points came in the second half, including six points in a decisive 12-0 run that put the Bobcats on top for good. He's averaging 18.1 points (2nd - NEC) and 5.5 rebounds for the season.
