Tom Moore To Appear On WFAN/YES-TV's "Mike'd Up" Thursday
HAMDEN, Conn. Quinnipiac University Men's Basketball Head Coach Tom Moore has accepted an invitation to appear on WFAN's "Mike'd Up" Thursday from 3-5 p.m. Moore will join host Mike Francesa in studio to discuss the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament. The program can be heard on 660 AM and a live audio simulcast will be available via WFAN's homepage. It will also be televised on the YES Network.
The appearance will be Moore's second on the program. His prior appearance, then on "Mike and the Mad Dog," followed his introduction as head coach at Quinnipiac on March 29, 2007. Moore has also been a weekly guest on a pair of radio shows this year. He appeared every Wednesday evening on ESPN Radio 1410 and 1300's (Hartford/New Haven) "The Back Page with Jason Page", as well as a weekly spot on "College Hoops Talk" with Terry O'Connor on WICC-600.
The Bobcats finished the 2008-09 season with a 15-16 record, including a 10-8 mark in Northeast Conference play. Quinnipiac endured a rash of injuries to finish fifth in the NEC, despite being picked seventh by the league's coaches in the preseason. The Bobcats advanced to the NEC Tournament Semifinals with an upset victory in overtime at fourth-seeded Long Island, before falling to regular-season and tournament champion Robert Morris.
Under Moore's guidance, Justin Rutty (Newburgh, N.Y.) became the first sophomore in the last five years to be named to the All-NEC First Team. Junior James Feldeine (New York, N.Y.) earned the inaugural NEC Most Improved Player Award, as well as All-NEC Second Team recognition, after more than doubling his scoring average, going from 8.3 points per game to an NEC-leading 17.0 points per game. Freshman James Johnson (Queens, N.Y.) was also named to the NEC All-Rookie Team after starting all 31 games for the Bobcats.
