About Azusa Pacific
Azusa Pacific, currently ranked No. 3 in the NCATA, stands at 2-4 overall this year. In their last meet, the Cougars beat the Bears of Baylor University, 276.56-271.80, on Thursday, April 11. The win was their second of the season as they took five out of the six events.
This Season against the Cougars
This will be the second meeting between these two programs this year. The Bobcats traveled to Azusa Pacific on March 13, where they competed in a tri-meet against the Cougars and Fairmont State. Quinnipiac prevailed with a score of 266.99, picking up two wins on the day.
The Oregon Ducks are coming off a perfect regular season in 2013 after finishing the season, 6-0, against NCATA opponents. The Ducks, in their last meeting, faced the Baylor Bears on April 6 in Waco, Texas. The Ducks would be the ones to come out on top, 281.30-266.275, to conclude the regular season. Their score of 281.30 was the third highest total in the NCATA this year.
This Season Against the Ducks
It would be the second meeting between these two programs this year if the No. 1 and No. 2 teams meet in the Championship match of the tournament. The Bobcats hosted the Ducks back in March where they suffered their second loss of the season, 273.475-260.215. The Bobcats would come away with the Pyramid event; however it wasn't enough for them to pull off the win.
Baylor enters Thursday's competition as the No. 4 seed in the tournament after finishing the regular season with a 2-4 mark against NCATA opponents. In their last meeting against the Ducks of Oregon, the Bears fell 281.30-266.275 in Waco, Texas.
This Season Against the Bears
If the two teams should meet in the Championship match of the tournament, it will mark the second meeting between the two programs this year. The Bobcats were supposed to host the Bears back in February; however winter weather prevented the two from competing. Quinnipiac would then visit Waco, Texas on March 10, where they fell, 262.475- 285.65.
Fairmont State is currently ranked No. 5 and stands at 1-5 overall in the NCATA this year. The Fighting Falcons fell to Quinnipiac on Saturday, April 6, 279.085-275.87, in their most recent competition. The loss was Fairmont's fifth of the season as the Quinnipiac took four out of the six events.
This Season Against the Fighting Falcons
This will be the fourth meeting between these two programs this year if they should meet in the Championship. The Bobcats hosted the Fighting Falcons earlier this month as they came away with the 279.085-275.87 victory. Quinnipiac was able to collect four out of the six events; however the Falcons took the Acro and Pyramid events to give them the lead going into halftime.
