Bear Crossing
The Quinnipiac acrobatics & tumbling team will continue its 2013 season against National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association opponent Baylor University on Sunday, March 10.  The teams will meet at 3:30 p.m. in the Ferrell Center in Waco, Tx. The Bobcats currently stand at 1-0 in the NCATA while Baylor is 1-2. The Bobcats were scheduled to face the Bears back in February, but the meet was cancelled due to inclement weather.

About Baylor

Baylor currently stands at 1-2 on the 2013 season.  Recently the Bears fell to the Ducks of Oregon 266.775-249.265 on Saturday, March 2, with the Ducks sweeping all six events against the visiting Bears.  Oregon dominated the Bears in the first half, sweeping every single heat in the Compulsory, Acro and Pyramid rounds. Baylor pulled through winning two of the tumbling heats, the trio pass (8.45-7.30) and the open pass (9.85-9.78), however it was not enough to hold on as Oregon won the event 54.08-52.53. The Ducks went on to win Toss and Team as the final score came to 266.775-249.265. Last season, Baylor was 2-4 overall and made it to the semifinals in the NCATA tournament.  Baylor welcomes 17 newcomers to the squad as they return 27 athletes.

All-Time Against the Bears
Sunday's match will mark the second matchup between these two programs.  Last season Quinnipiac fell to the Bears in a tri-meet contest 281.395- 278.71.  Quinnipiac won two out of the six events, pyramid and tumbling but was no contest for the NCATA first place Bears who had a come from behind defeat as they captured the team event to give them the victory over Fairmont and the Bobcats.

Last Time On the Mats
The Bobcats opened their 2013 season with a victory on the road against Fairmont University, 279.33-274.43.  The Fighting Falcons took the first two events and the lead as they went into half time 95.4-95.3.  The Bobcats were able to gain control of the meet in the second stanza as they swept all events to give Quinnipiac the commanding 279.33-274.43 win.

Fine Nines
In the contest against Fairmont University (3/2), Quinnipiac held the advantage in four out of the six events of the evening.  The Acro event against the Fighting Falcon's showed the teams growth as they recorded their best overall performance in the event's heat when freshman Montara Tomasetti  (9.8), senior Christina Lasto  (9.5) and junior Trisha Pierce (9.4), all recorded in the mid- to high-nines for the event.  This was a feat the Bobcats have yet to mark in their past seasons when they only scored in the eights.
