Championship Weekend Game Notes
WACO, Texas – Graduate student Erin Trotman (Bristol, Conn.) and junior Christina Lasto (Oxford, Conn.) were each named to the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) All-American Team, as announced at the end of year banquet on Wednesday, April 25.
After entering the 2012 season as the nation's leader in the toss event in 2011 (with a high score of 9.95), Lasto came out even stronger this season. Lasto's season highlights came during the past two weeks, as she posted a perfect 10-out-of-10 in the first heat of the pyramid event in back-to-back meets on Saturday, March 17 and again on Monday, April 2.
Trotman once again anchored the team in the tumbling events this season, as she twice posted perfect individual scores in the open heat (Friday, March 9 and Monday, April 2). In addition to her perfect 9.5-out-of-9.5 open heat score in Monday, April 2 against Azusa Pacific, Trotman also helped to turn in the highest score in the duo heat of the tumbling event (9.80-out-of-9.90) with fellow teammate sophomore Danielle Burns (Budd Lake, N.J.).
Lasto, Trotman and the Bobcats look to have a strong outing in today's Quarterfinals matchup against No. 5 Azusa Pacific in the NCATA National Championships at 4:30 p.m. (CT) at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
