The Quinnipiac competitive cheer squad will perform twice throughout the event, starting with its new meet format that has been developed for the six universities that currently feature competitive cheer. The new format was created in the hopes of advancing the sport throughout the country. The Bobcats will conclude the event with their 2 ½ minute traditional routine.
The night will kick off with a ribbon cutting ceremony by the competitive cheer coaching staff and the team captains, Alicia Chouinard (Hudson, N.H.) and Stephanie Colella (Hamden, Conn.), followed by the meet format performance. The Westfield State Coed Dance squad and the Sacred Heart cheer squad will take the floor before the Bobcats final 2 ½-minute routine performance that will wrap up the event. Boomer will also be on hand to throw out t-shirts and prizes to the attendees.
Teams are scheduled to arrive at Burt Kahn Court at 6 p.m., for warm-ups. For more information about the event, please contact the Competitive Cheer Head Coach Mary Ann Powers at 203-582-5325.
