HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University field hockey team clinched its first-ever MAAC Championship on Saturday evening by defeating Robert Morris, 1-0, in Lawrenceville, N.J. With the win, the Bobcats receive the MAAC's automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship. The selection show will be on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 10 p.m. on NCAA.com with the play-in game set for Wed., Nov. 13. The Bobcats will host a viewing party in the Quinnipiac Athletics and Recreation Center's Conference Room, which will be open to the public to attend beginning at 9:30 p.m.

In Saturday's matchup, Danziger provided the Bobcats with the emphatic victory with a blast in the 13th minute of play. From there, defense was the name of the game. Conaboy made her fourth consecutive shutout and extended her Quinnipiac single season record for wins in a season with 14.
To go alongside the regular season championship and the MAAC Tournament Championship Quinnipiac had four players make the MAAC Tournament team. The players were goalie Megan Conaboy (Clarks Summit, Pa.), Christa Romano (Madison, N.J.), Danielle Allan (Riverdale, N.J.) and the tournament MVP in Danziger.
