The new Tier 1 upgrade to sport of emphasis promises a new premier playing field and additional support for the program.

In addition to Quinnipiac and Syracuse, host Hofstra will face LaSalle, with the consolation and championship game being playing on Sunday, Sept. 1.

"We are very pleased to have been able to add Old Dominion and UMASS-Lowell to the regular-season schedule for the first time ever," Main said. "We hope to continue the competition in years to come and are looking forward to these new rivalries."

On Thursday, Sept. 5, the Bobcats will travel to Boston College, who finished 2012 ranked No. 21, to take on the Eagles at 7 p.m. Quinnipiac will open their home schedule on Sunday, Sept. 8 against Maine, who finished last season ranked No. 23.
