Field Hockey Head Coach Becca Main Announces The Addition Of Six Newcomers To 2013 Squad

Quinnipiac field hockey head coach Becca Main has announced the addition of six newcomers to the Bobcats for the 2013 season. Angie King (South Windsor, Conn.), Casey Keifer (Bangor, Pa.), Evonna Ackourey (Dallas, Pa.), Lily Shermo (Luzerne, Pa.), Lea Dietrichs (Lueneberg, Germany) and Allison Tanner (Short Hills, N.J.) will join the Bobcats next season.

Evonna Ackourey

Awards
Main on Ackourey: " Simply put, Evonna can put the ball in the net.  She is a very quick and active forward and she comes from former Bobcat stand-out midfielder, Lauren Zimniski's high school in PA.  We had Evonna at several of our Bobcat clinics and camps and she has made extensive progress over the last few years.  Evonna should see some active playing time in her freshman season."

Angie King

Awards:

Main on King: "We have watched Angie compete for a few years and we have always been

excited about her strength around the ball and her competitiveness. She has been on a South Windsor team that has done very well in the past few years and we are looking to have Angie train in the midfield as a freshman to work on her strength in passing.  We really feel the more touches Angie can get the better she will be able to lead transition in the midfield."

Casey Kiefer

Awards:
Main on Kiefer: "Casey is a strong goalkeeper that hails from a very elite area of field hockey in Pennsylvania.  She has a steady sense about herself in the cage and we feel she can be a contributor in her freshman campaign.  We found her at our Clinics and Camps and because we have had an extensive amount of time to coach her we are confident she can make an immediate impact in the net."
