Field Hockey Continues Northeast Conference Play At Robert Morris and Saint Francis (Pa.) This Weekend

Headin' To The Penn
The Quinnipiac University field hockey team will travel to Western Pennsylvania to face a pair of Northeast Conference opponents in Robert Morris and Saint Francis (Pa.). The Bobcats and Colonials will play on Friday, Oct. 19 at RMU's Joe Walton Stadium in Moon Township, Pa. at 1 p.m. before Quinnipiac faces first-place Saint Francis (Pa.) on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 1 p.m. at De Gol Field in Loretto, Pa.

Last Time Out
The Bobcats saw a four-game winning streak end with a 3-0 loss to Monmouth on Oct. 12 at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Turf Complex. The Bobcats responded with perhaps the biggest win in program history with a shocking 3-2 win against Rider on Sunday, Oct. 14. The Bobcats win against the Broncs snapped a 25-game conference winning streak for Rider that dated back to 2008.

That Was A Long Time Coming
Quinnipiac's 3-2 win against Rider gave the Broncs their first loss in 25-straight Northeast Conference games. The win was also Quinnipiac's first win against Rider since the 2006 season.

Good Senior Day
Lauren Zimniski celebrated Senior Day on Oct. 14 with her first career goal and her team-leading sixth assist in the Bobcats' 3-2 win against Rider.

The Big O
Megan Osantisch, who redshirted as a freshman last season, stepped-up on defense when the Bobcats needed her against Rider. Osantisch broke up three straight Rider penalty corners late in the game to slam the door on the Broncs and give the Bobcats' their first win against Rider since 2006.

Movin' On Up
Jess Rusin's  eighth goal of the season gives her 22 for her career, moving her into a tie for seventh place all-time in the Quinnipiac record-books. She matches Kristen McCarthy's '06 career total. Rusin now has 53 points, trailing McCarthy's 54 for seventh place.

All-Time Against Robert Morris
Quinnipiac is 7-1 all-time against Robert Morris, with its only loss to the Colonials coming on Oct. 26, 2008 when RMU defeated Quinnipiac, 2-1, in Moon Township, Pa. The Bobcats are 4-0 all-time at home against the Colonials, and have outscored Robert Morris 14-2 all-time on their home field.

Scouting The Colonials
Robert Morris is currently 4-10 overall and 1-2 in the Northeast Conference and are coming off a thrilling 2-1 overtime win against Siena. Jamie Hartley leads the team in points (17) and assists (9) while reigning NEC Rookie of the Week Jess Martin-Brown has scored a team-leading eight goals this season. Taleah Scott is the only other Colonial to reach double-digits in scoring (13) through RMU's 14 games with five goals and four assists.

All-Time Against Saint Francis (Pa.)
Quinnipiac is 11-1 all-time against Saint Francis, dating back to their first match-up in 2001. Quinnipiac won the first seven meetings between the two teams and also boast a perfect home record (7-0) against the Red Flash. Quinnipiac has outscored SFPA 39-3 all-time.

Scouting The Red Flash
Saint Francis (Pa.) is currently 9-4 overall and 3-0 in the Northeast Conferece and are in sole possession of first place in the league standings. Saint Francis has won four straight and six of its last seven games with their lone loss in the run coming to Miami, 3-2. The Red Flash are led by three-time NEC Player of the Week Autumn Pellman and Carissa Makea, who each log-in with 23 points for the year. Pellman has scored 11 goals this season, while Makea sits behind her at 10. Selena Adamshick checks-in with six goals and four assists for 16 points while Tia Dudukovich has scored two goals to go along with her team-best 10 assists.
