Danielle Allan Named Northeast Conference Field Hockey Co-Player of the Week
Quinnipiac sophomore Danielle Allan (Riverdale, N.J.) was named the Northeast Conference Field Hockey Co-Player of the Week on Monday, Sept. 24 as announced by the conference office.
Allan was honored with the weekly award along with Bryant's Rosie Bird. The second-year Bobcat announced her return to the Bobcats' lineup after missing the team's first four games of the regular season while recovering from an injury. Eased back into action in her first three games back, Allan put the pedal down against Maine and American this weekend, scoring in both games.
Last season, Allan was a two-time Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week in one of the historically great freshman seasons in Quinnipiac history. The native of Riverdale, N.J. had a pair of hat tricks and became the first freshman in program history to score in three straight games. Allan marked Maine up for a goal in a 5-3 loss before scoring against Patriot League favorite American in a 3-2 win.
Allan is the second Quinnipiac player this season - joining tri-captain Jennalise Taylor - to earn NEC Player of the Week honors and the 27th player in program history.
Quinnipiac returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 26 when it hosts Brown at 4 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Turf Complex in Hamden, Conn.
