Quinnipiac field hockey junior Jennalise Taylor (Yardley, Pa.) was named the Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week after leading the Bobcats to their first 2-0 start in the program's Division I history.
Taylor had an oustanding weekend for the Bobcats, who defeated Holy Cross, 1-0, on Friday, Aug. 24 and Towson, 3-1, on Sunday, Aug. 26. A defensive player for the first two years of her career, Taylor transitioned to the midfield this season.
Taylor factored in all four goals the Bobcats put on the board for the week. The junior scored her first career goal in a 1-0 win against Holy Cross in the first game of the 2012 season. Taylor then had a four-point game, scoring once and assisting on two more goals, in a 3-1 win against Towson.
Taylor is now the 26th Quinnipiac student-athlete, all-time, to win the NEC Field Hockey Player of the Week honor.
The Bobcats return to action on Friday, Aug. 31 when they host nationally-ranked No. 17 Boston College at 3:30 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Turf Complex.
