Field Hockey Places 12 On Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University field hockey
placed 12 student-athletes on the 2011 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA
National Academic Squad, as announced by the National Field Hockey
Coaches Association today. In addition, Quinnipiac also received a
National Academic Team Award by the NFHCA after the team posted a
cumulative 3.0 grade-point average.
The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who
have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first
semester of the 2011-12 academic year. The National Academic
Team Award recognizes those institutions that achieve a minimum GPA
of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2011-12 academic
year.
Headlining the list of Bobcats were four-time honorees Nicole Lewis (East Amherst, N.Y.), Megan McCreedy (White River, South Africa) and Lauren Zimniski (Dallas, Pa.). Also named to the team were Danielle Allan (Riverdale, N.J.), Megan Conaboy (Clarks Summit, Pa.), Kristin Engelke (Medford, N.J.), Kacie McCreesh (Perkasie, Pa.), Megan Osantich (Harwinton, Conn.), Christa Romano (Madison, N.J.), Jess Rusin (Garwood, N.J.), Nikki Schultz (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) and Jennalise Taylor (Yardley, Pa.).
