Quinnipiac Field Hockey Travels To No. 6 Penn State On Sunday, Sept. 11 

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac University field hockey team, fresh off a 6-0 drubbing of Colgate on Friday, Sept. 9, are currently ranked 24th out of 79 NCAA Division I teams in Ratings Percentage Index (RPI), compiled by The Bobcats are currently tied for the 18th best record in Division I field hockey and rank among the top 25 in Average Computer Rating (ACR) and Strength of Schedule (SOS).

The Bobcats have won two-in-a-row, including a thrilling 3-2 shoot-out win against New Haven County foe Yale prior to their 6-0 win against Colgate. The Bobcats head to nationally-ranked No. 6 Penn State on Sunday, Sept. 11 to face the Nittany Lions, ranked 22nd in the RPI, at 12 p.m.

Bobcat sophomore Jess Rusin (Garwood, N.J.) scored three goals and assisted on another to take the team's point lead (nine points) through it first four games. Freshman standout Danielle Allen (Pompton Lakes, N.J.) and senior Kaitlyn Notarianni (Clarks Summit, Pa.) check-in with three goals and assist each while senior captain Kim Cunniff (Walpole, Mass.) has deposited two goals and assisted on another.

In goal, Nicole Lewis (East Amherst, N.Y.) is 3-1 with a 2.26 goals-against average. The senior goalkeeper has held the opposition scoreless over the last 135:11 in the cage and has stopped 32 of 42 shots on goal for the year.
