The Quinnipiac field hockey team lost to Rider, 5-1, in a Northeast Conference match-up in Lawrenceville, N.J. With the loss, Quinnipiac drops to 2-2 in NEC play and 8-7 overall while Rider goes to 13-1 overall while it also remains undefeated in NEC play at 4-0.
Senior Kimberly Cunniff (Walpole, Mass.) scored the Bobcats only goal at the 15:16 mark of the first half with an assist going to Ashley Gradwell (Fogelsville, Pa.). The goal was Cunniff's 21st of her career and also gives her 49 career points.
Marlaine Schneider scored three times for Rider, and also assisted on a fourth in the game. Stacey Dileo and Sandra Penas also scored for the Broncs.
Quinnipiac returns to action on Friday, Oct. 21 when it travels to Siena for a Northeast Conference match-up set for 4 p.m. before it hosts Bryant on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 12 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey & Lacrosse Turf Complex in Hamden, Conn.
