Quinnipiac field hockey sophomore Amanda Danziger (Smithtown, N.Y.) scored with 5.2 seconds remaining in regulation to give Quinnipiac a 4-3 win against Harvard at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Turf Complex. The win pushes Quinnipiac to 5-2 on the season while Harvard drops to 2-4 on the year.

The goal was Danziger's first of the season. The sophomore forward slipped behind the Crimson's defense and was all alone with Harvard goalkeeper Cynthia Tassopoulos when she received a brilliant pass from senior Maria Malonoski (Phoenixville, Pa.). Tassopoulos chased Danziger, but the second-year Bobcat handled the ball in the circle and flipped a shot around Tassopoulos to give Quinnipiac a one-goal lead with little time on the clock.

Senior captains Kim Cunniff (Walpole, Mass.) and Megan McCreedy (White River, South Africa) both scored a goal and assisted on another. Cunniff scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season while McCreedy picked up her team-leading sixth goal of the season. Jess Rusin (Garwood, N.J.) also scored for the Bobcats, her fifth of the year.

Cunniff's goal staked Quinnipiac to an early lead when she scored off a corner at the 4:44 mark. Malonoski took the corner for Quinnipiac and hooked up with McCreedy at the top fo the circle. McCreedy slid a pass over to Kaitlyn Notarianni (Clarks Summit, Pa.) who spied Cunniff to the right side of the circle. McCreedy took a pass from Cunniff in the 24th minute and flipped a shot past Tassopoulos to give Quinnipiac a 2-0 lead.

Harvard answered with a pair of goal just 29 seconds apart when Kyleaigh Keating scored off a pass from Caryl Dickson at the 30:50 mark before Noel Painter tied the game at the 31:19 mark. Coming out of halftime, Rusin's goal at the 42:48 mark gave the Bobcats a one-goal lead before Keating scored her second goal of the game in the 61st minute off a pass from Katelin Wahl to tie the game, 3-3.

Quinnipiac is back in on Wednesday, Sept. 18 when they travel to Columbia for a non-conference match-up at 6:30 p.m. The Bobcats return home on Sunday, Sept. 25 when they host Maine at 1 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey & Lacrosse Turf Complex in Hamden, Conn.
