The Quinnipiac University field hockey team went undefeated in four games at the Quinnipiac University Field Hockey Spring Tournament on Saturday, April 2 in Hamden, Conn. Kimberly Cunniff (Walpole, Mass.) scored three goals on the day while Kaitlyn Notarianni (Clarks Summit, Pa.) added two goals for the Bobcats.
Notarianni scored the Bobcats first goal of the tournament in their 1-1 tie against Bryant. In the second game of the day, a 2-1 win against Colgate, Cunniff scored on a straight shot with assists to Ashley Gradwell (Fogelsvill, Pa.) and Megan McCreedy (White River, South Africa). Lauren Zimniski (Dallas, Pa.) scored on a corner with assists credited to McCreedy and Cunniff.
Quinnipiac then knocked-off Bryant, 1-0, with Notarianni scored off a rebound on a reverse chip shot in front of the cage to give Quinnipiac the go-ahead goal.
In its final game of the day, Quinnipiac defeated Colgate for the second time, 2-0, as Cunniff scored twice, with both assists going to McCreedy and Maria Malonoski (Phoenixvill, Pa.). For the day, Quinnipiac converted on four consecutive corners.
Quinnipiac's spring season comes to a close on Sunday, April 10 when when it hosts Sacred Heart, Brown, Holy Cross, Columbia and a team comprise of Quinnipiac Alumni for the 6th Annual Longstreth Challenge at Quinnipiac University.
