Northeast Conference Tournament Bound
With a 5-1 win against Siena on Sunday, Oct. 31, the Quinnipiac University field hockey team clinched the fourth seed in the 2010 Northeast Conference Field Hockey Championship Tournament. The Bobcats will face NEC top-ranked Rider on the Broncs home turf on Friday, Nov. 5 at 1:30 p.m. in Lawrenceville, N.J. The winner of the first game of the day, pitting No. 2 Monmouth against No. 3 Bryant at 11 a.m., and the winner of the Bobcats' tilt with Rider, will advance to the NEC Championship Game on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 12 p.m.
Quinnipiac is 7-7 all-time in the Northeast Conference Championship Tournament, incluidng a 4-4 mark in semifinal games and a 3-2 record in the NEC Championship. The Bobcats have faced Rider four times in the NEC Championship Game, with the all-time series split at 2-2. The Bobcats won five of its first six NEC Tournament games, and have won just twice since 2002, edging Sacred Heart and Rider for the 2003 NEC Tournament Championship.

All-Time Against The Broncs
Quinnipiac and Rider have met 20 times since the Bobcats joined the Division I ranks, with the Broncs winning 12 including eight of the last 12 and six of the last seven. Quinnipiac's last win against Rider came on Oct. 1, 2006 in Hamden when the Bobcats rung up a 3-1 victory. The Bobcats are 6-2 all-time in Hamden against Rider and 2-7 all-time in Lawrenceville, N.J.
Rider enters this weekend's Northeast Conference Field Hockey Championship Tournament with an overall record of 14-3 including a perfect 7-0 mark in NEC play, the only team in the conference to go undefeated this season. The Broncs have won 11 straight, with their last loss coming on Sept. 17 to St. Joseph's. Rider has allowed just three goals in their last 11 games. Rider features six players to reach double-digit points, including three with 30 or more. Virginia Egusquiza leads the Broncs in assists (20) and points (40) while also scoring 10 goals. Megan Pisani leads Rider with 15 goals, checking in with 33 points, while Sandra Penas has tallied 13 goals and six assists for 32 points. In goal, Rebecca Lotito has logged the majority of the minutes in the cage, posting an 11-1-0 record with a .051 goals-against average and a .833 save percentage. The conference leader in goals scored per game, Rider is averaging 3.65 per contest.
In two games played last week, Kaitlyn Notarianni scored a team high five points on two goals and one assist. She had an assist in the Bobcats 5-2 loss to Bryant on Friday, Oct. 29 before leading the Bobcats with two goals against Siena to clinch a berth in the NEC Tournament. For the year, Notarianni leads the team with seven goals and three assists for 17 points.
Quinnipiac honored Amanda DeLouise, MacKenzie Liptak, Katie Van Nostrand and Tina Watkins on Sunday, Oct. 31 as they played their final home game of their career on Senior Day. DeLouise got the start in goal, stopping two of three shots on goal for the win. Liptak scored in the game, her fourth goal of the season.
Tina Watkins scored in the Bobcats 5-2 loss to Bryant on Friday. It was her second goal of the season. With her team-leading and career-high seven assists, she now has 11 points.

Quinnipiac is one of three teams - along with Rider and Monmouth - to carry four players with double-digit points.
