Field Hockey Travels to Bryant On Friday, Hosts Siena For Senior Day On Sunday

The Quinnipiac University field hockey team (7-8, 3-2 NEC) will
travel to Smithfield, R.I. on Friday, Oct. 29 to take on Bryant
University (6-11, 3-2 NEC) at 7 p.m. The Bobcats then host Siena
(2-14, 0-5 NEC) on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. for Senior Day as
Quinnipiac honors Amanda DeLouise, Tina Watkins, Katie Van Nostrand
and MacKenzie Liptak as they play their final games at the
Quinnipiac Field Hockey & Lacrosse Turf Field.
Playoff Picture
Quinnipiac will clinch a playoff berth for the Northeast Conference
Tournament with a win against Bryant or Siena this weekend.
Scouting Bryant
Bryant is currently 6-11 overall and 3-2 in the Northeast
Conference, tied with the Bobcats for fourth place. The Bulldogs
are coming off back-to-back losses to Rider (3-0) and Monmouth
(1-0). Prior to that, Bryant had won six of its previous seven
games. Courtney Landi leads Bryant with 15 points, including a
team-high seven goals. Elise Boissoneau sits behind Landi with 12
points on five goals and two assists. Katherine Andrusin leads the
team with three assists. In goal, Jennifer Gullotti has logged
all1,189 minutes in goal for Bryant and boasts a 3.42 goals-against
average and a .690 save percentage.
All-Time Against The Bulldogs
Last season's game on Oct. 25, a 2-0 Bryant win, was the first
meeting between the two teams.
Scouting Siena
Siena is currently 2-14 and 0-5 in the Northeast Conference, and
are coming off four straight losses. Olivia Whelly and Liza
Heimerle are tied for the team lead with two goals while Whelly
also boasts one assist for a team-high five points.
All-Time Against The Saints
Quinnipiac has defeated Siena in 14 of the 15 meetings between the
two teams since 1999. After winning the first three meetings, Siena
won their first, and only, game against Quinnipiac in Hamden on
Oct. 15, 2000. Since then, Quinnipiac has won 11 straight.
All-time, the Bobcats have outscored the Saints, 55-9, and has
allowed just one goal in their last seven meetings. Quinnipiac is
7-1 in eight games in Hamden, Conn.

MacKenzie Liptak (Sr., F, Schuylerville, N.Y./Schuylerville
Central) led Quinnipiac to a 2-0 record last week as the Bobcats
knocked off Saint Francis (Pa.), 2-0, on Friday, Oct. 22 before
taking down Robert Morris, 3-1, on Sunday, Oct. 24, Liptak scored
the game-winning goals in both games. She opened the scoring
against Saint Francis on Friday, before giving the Bobcats the
go-ahead goal in their win against Robert Morris.
Moving Up The Charts
Liptak's goal against Robert Morris moved her into 12th place in
career goals at Quinnipiac and 10th all-time in points.
Getting The Right Engel(ke)
Kristen Engelke (Medford, N.J.) had a goal and an assist in the
Bobcats 3-1 win against Robert Morris. Engelke now sits in third
place among Quinnipiac's leaders with 12 points on five goals and
two assists.
Notable Notes
Kaitlyn Notarianni (Clarks Summit, Pa.) moved into second place on
the roster with five goals and three assists for 13 points.
Notarianni scored her fifth goal of the season in Quinnipiac's 3-1
win against Robert Morris.
Putting Points Up
Kim Cunniff (Walpole, Mass.) had an assist against Robert Morris,
giving her a team-high 14 points on six goals and two assists.
Cage
Fighter
Nicole Lewis (East Amherst, N.Y.) had a banner week, posting a
2-0-0 record with a .800 save percentage after stopping four of
five shots on goal this weekend. In allowing one goal over 140
minutes, Lewis also posted a 0.50 goals-against average. For the
year, she is 7-5-0 with a 1.96 GAA and a .740 save percentage.

Quinnipiac is 5-2-0 in its last seven games.
Comback Kids
Six of Quinnipiac's seven wins have come after the opposing team
scored first.
Shut-Down D
In two games last weekend, Quinnipiac allowed two shots and no
goals in the second half of either game.

Quinnipiac currently boasts nine players who have scored a goal
this season, second only to Rider among the NEC ranks.
