HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University field hockey team participated in the Be The Match Challenge, an initiative put forth by the Northeast Conference field hockey coaches to benefit bone marrow donation. The first-time donor drive was held over March and April on various Northeast Conference member institutions' campuses.
Quinnipiac's donor drive, coordinated by head coach Becca Kohli, assistant coach Cheryl Torino and the entire field hockey team, helped to bring in 130 new donors on the Bobcats' campus alone. Saint Francis (Pa.) brought in 217 new donors, followed by Sacred Heart with 137. Siena (94) and Robert Morris (80) also participated in the event, while Bryant's drive was postponed until September.
