Field Hockey Loses To Bryant, 2-0

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Quinnipiac University field hockey team lost to Bryant University, 2-0, in a Northeast Conference match-up at the Bryant Turf Complex in Smithfield, R.I. With the loss, Quinnipiac drops to 3-3 in the NEC and 4-11 overall. Bryant improves to 6-10 overall and 3-4 in conference play.

The loss snaps a two-game win streak against Northeast Conference teams for the Bobcats following back-to-back wins against Sacred Heart last weekend. Jenna Grossman (Flanders, N.J.) stopped 10 of the 12 shots she saw for the day for her seventh double-digit save effort of the season and 18th of her career.

Tia Pydynkowski put Bryant on top less than three minutes into the second half when a blast from the top of the circle beat Grossman to the right side of the goal. The Bulldogs added another goal with five minutes left in the game when Courtney Landi hooked up with Elise Boissoneau fo r the goal with a player advantage after Quinnipiac was given a yellow card seconds before.

Quinnipiac returns to action on Friday, Oct. 30 when it hosts Robert Morris in a Northeast Conference game at 4 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey & Lacrosse Turf Field in Hamden, Conn.
