The Quinnipiac University field hockey team will host nationally ranked No. 6 University of Connecticut on Tuesday, Sept. 29. The Bobcats and Huskies hit the field at 4 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey & Lacrosse Turf Field in Hamden, Conn. Quinnipiac enters the game with an overall record of 1-6 while UConn stands undefeated at 9-0.

Scouting The Connecticut Huskies
UConn is currently 9-0 and ranked No. 6 in the Kookaburra/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll. Connecticut has outscored their opponents 39-8 and are averaging 4.33 goals per game, while allowing 0.89. Loren Sherer leads UConn, and ranks among the national leaders, with 13 goals and eight assists for 34 points. Ali Blankmeyer is second on the team with eight goals and 18 points, while Allison Angulo and Kim Kryzk are tied for second on the team with seven assists.

All-Time Against The Huskies
Quinnipiac and Connecticut have squared-off eight times since the Bobcats joined the Division I ranks in 1998. UConn holds the advantage in the all-time series, winning all eight games dating back to their first meeting on Oct. 24, 1999. Both teams have played on Quinnipiac's home field twice, with UConn winning 1-0 in overtime on Sept. 8, 2005 and 7-0 on Sept. 25, 2007.

In seven games, six different Bobcats have scored. Lauren Hartnett and Liz Marini led Quinnipiac with two goals apiece while MacKenzie Liptak, Bonnie Shea, Kimberly Cunniff and Tina Watkins have scored. Three different Bobcats (Marini, Cunniff and Watkins) have scored their first career goals this season.

Jenna Grossman, with four double-digit save games out of seven that she has started, ranked sixth among all NCAA Division I goalkeepers in saves per game at 8.71.
