The Quinnipiac
University field hockey team will travel to Easton, Pa. on Sunday,
Sept. 20 to participate in the Lafayette College Invitational.
Lafayette will play Pacific at 11 a.m. on Sunday before taking on
the Bobcats at 2 p.m. Lafayette enters Sunday's doubleheader with
an overall record of 5-1. Quinnipiac is still searching for its
first win of the season at 0-4.
Scouting The
Lafayette College Leopards
Lafayette is 5-1
overall and winners of their last three games. Their lone loss of
the season came on Sept. 11 in a 1-0 decision to Temple. Deanna
DiCroce leads all Leopards with seven points on three goals and one
assist. Kelly Hilovsky is tied for the team lead with three goals
while Amber Saber leads Lafayette with two assists. In goal, Kelsey
Andersen has logged every minute of the season in the cage, posting
a 1.20 goals-against average with three shuouts in six games
played.
All-Time Against The Leopards
Quinnipiac and Lafayette have squared off just twice in their
programs' histories with the Leopards taking both contests.
Lafayette won the first match-up, on Sept. 9, 2007 in Easton, Pa.,
2-1 before knocking off the Bobcats 3-1 last season in
Hamden.
Last Time Out - Hofstra 2, Quinnipiac 1 2OT
Quinnipiac lost a heartbreaker on Wednesday, Sept. 16 in a 2-1 loss in double overtime to Hofstra on the Pride's home turf. Lauren Hartnett scored early in the second half before Hofstra scored with ten minutes remaining in regulation. They would score the game-winner in the 91st minute. Jenna Grossman had 12 saves in the loss.
