The Quinnipiac
University field hockey team will host Northeastern University on
Friday, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey &
Lacrosse Turf Complex. The Bobcats are 0-1 on the year following a
season-opening loss to Boston College on Sept. 4. Northeastern is
currently 1-2 overall.

Scouting The
Northeastern University Huskies
Northeastern
University is currently 1-2 overall following a season-opening 2-1
loss to No. 3 Syracuse on Aug. 28. They then split a pair of games
on the West Coast, falling to Stamford, 1-0, before defeating
California, 3-2 in double overtime. Northeastern is led by Crystal
Poland, who has two goals and one assist for a team-high five
points. In goal, Lissie Priest is 1-2-0 after allowing five goals
in over 230 minutes in net for a 1.52 goals-against average. She
has also turned away 14 of 19 shots faced for a .737 save
percentage.
All-Time Against The Huskies
Quinnipiac is 0-8 all-time against Northeastern, dating back to
their first meeting on Sept. 15, 1999. Seven of the eight match-ups
all-time have come on Northeastern's home field, while the only
game played in Hamden fell on Sept. 12, 2007.

Despite being shut-out in their 2009 season opener, the Bobcats showed promise in the second half of their 5-0 loss to Boston College. In particular, sophomore goaltender Nicole Lewis turned back all four shots on goal to hold BC scoreless in the second half. A combined defensive effort put forth by Cassie Adams, Katie Van Nostrand and Bonnie Shea held up down the stretch.

Sunday, September 6, 2009 was the date of the 2009 Quinnipiac Field Hockey Alumni Game.
