HAMDEN, Conn. The Quinnipiac University field hockey team will host the 2009 Longstreth Series on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey & Lacrosse Turf Field in Hamden, Conn. The series will consist of six games featuring Quinnipiac, Yale, Lafayette and Massachusetts and is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. This weekend's games are the second part of the series, with the first hosted by Lafayette on April 5.
Prior to Sunday's games, USA Field Hockey umpire Sally Edinger and NCAA Official's assignor Lillian Perone will host a rules education meeting for all coaches, athletes and umpires at 9 a.m. on the field, with the emphasis on rule changes for the upcoming 2009 season.
Each team will play three games, with Quinnipiac and Yale squaring off at 10 a.m. Lafayette and UMass will then face each other at 10:40 a.m., followed by Lafayette and Quinnipiac at 11:20 a.m. UMass and Yale meet at 12 p.m., followed by Quinnipiac and UMass at 12:40 p.m. and Yale versus Lafayette at 1:20 p.m.
