Conner's first year on Gooley's staff comes after four seasons as the Trumbull (Conn.) Junior Legion head coach. Over the last two seasons, Conner coached the Jr. Trumbull team to a 33-7 record and four American Legion Tournament championships. In addition, Trumbull earned a berth in the state tournament each year and was a semi-finalist in 2011. He was also a two-time Zone 4 All-Star Game head coach. In 2013, Conner will serve as Trumbull's Senior Legion head coach. From 2010 to 2012, Conner was also Fairfield Warde High School's varsity pitching coach and junior varsity head coach.
Conner also had a one-year coaching tenure at Sacred Heart University for the 2008-09 season.
