The Quinnipiac baseball team (9-11, 4-4 NEC) is set for its home-opener on Wednesday, April 3rd where the Bobcats will host Dartmouth (14-3, 2-2 Ivy) at the QU Baseball Field. Quinnipiac will have its hands full with a red-hot Dartmouth club who comes into the contest with a 14-3 record. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.

Scouting The Dartmouth Big Green
Dartmouth (14-3) is ranked first in the region in the New England College Baseball Coaches Poll with nine of 11 first-place votes, and is receiving votes in the national poll conducted by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). The Big Green mustered three wins in five tries last week, defeating Siena and Columbia (2) while falling to Penn in a doubleheader on Saturday. Jeff Keller, one of Dartmouth's two co-captains this season, hit with extreme authority in the five games last week, collecting eight extra-base hits — five doubles, a triple and two home runs — while hitting .529 (9-for-17) and slugging 1.294 with eight RBIs. Keller is second on the team with a .356 batting average at the strength of 21 hits, 11 doubles, two triples and two homeruns. Ennis Coble leads the team offensively, hitting at a clip of .390 and reaching base over 46 percent of the time.

The Quinnipiac baseball team lost to the University of Connecticut, 4-2, in a game called short due to darkness in the bottom of the seventh after it was delayed by over an hour at J.O. Christian Field in Storrs, Conn. Brian Ruditys, Mike Palladino and Steffen Herter combined for Quinnipiac's three hits on the afternoon. Kevin Sustad, Ryan Walsh and Kevin Castodio each pitched for the Bobcats, combining for 6.2 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits and striking out seven.
