Vincent Guglietti Named's NEC Baseball Player of the Week

Quinnipiac sophomore Vincent Guglietti (East Haven, Conn.) has been selected as's Northeast Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the website on Tuesday, Mar. 5, 2013. 

Guglietti led Quinnipiac in average (.462), slugging % (.615), on-base percentage (.462), hits (6), doubles (2)and was one of six Bobcats to drive in two runs...With a team-best three-game hitting streak to open the year, Guglietti was 4-for-5 with a RBI and two runs scored in the Bobcats' season-opening 8-3 win against George Washington. He followed with a 1-for-4 day with an RBI in a 4-2 win in Game 2 of the series while wrapping up the Bobcats' sweep of the Colonials with a 1-for-4 day with a double in a 4-3 win.

As a freshman in 2012, Guglietti was named to the All-Northeast Conference Second Team after batting .276 (43-156) with a team-high 22 RBI and 21 runs scored. Guglietti also hit .310 (35-113) in NEC play, with a .378 on-base percentage, .363 slugging percentage, 19 RBI and 17 runs scored. Guglietti was also honored as the NEC Co-Rookie of the Week on May 1, 2012 following a four-game weekend series that saw the first-year DH hit .562 (9-16), including an 8-for-14 (.571) clip against Sacred Heart in a four-game set.

Quinnipiac will head South again next weekend as they play as they play seven games against several mid-Atlantic teams during its Spring Break. The Bobcats will play a three-game series at Richmond on Mar. 8-10, followed by games at North Carolina State on Mar. 12 and Duke on Mar. 13. They wrap-up their trip against Akron on Mar. 15-16 at Coastal Carolina's Vrooman Field at Watson Stadium in Conway, S.C.
