Quinnipiac Baseball's John Delaney Elevated To Associate Head Coach
Quinnipiac baseball head coach Dan Gooley has announced that John Delaney has been elevated to associate head coach. Delaney, who graduated from Quinnipiac in 2008, completed his first year with the Bobcats in 2013. Delaney helped guide the Bobcats to an eight-game improvement from the previous year. 2014 will be Quinnipiac’s first season competing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).

Quinnipiac Baseball's Dan Gooley To Retire As Bobcats' Head Coach Following 2014 Season
Quinnipiac baseball’s Dan Gooley has announced his retirement from coaching following the 2013-14 academic year. He is a member of the Quinnipiac Athletics Hall of Fame as a player, and also as the coach of the 1983 team enshrined in 2012. He enters his final season as the all-time leading in career victories in Quinnipiac Athletics’ history with 524 to date.

The nine runs scored is tied for the most in a single game for the Bobcats all season while their winning streak extends to three games now with the victory. Kane walked two batters, and hit two more, while striking out four.

Lamacchia Stymies George Washington In Bobcats' 8-3 Season-Opening Win
Quinnipiac senior Derek Lamacchia (White Stone, N.Y.) hurled seven one-hit, scoreless innings while sophomore Vincent Guglietti (East Haven, Conn.) was 4-for-5 as the Bobcats topped George Washington, 8-3, in their first game of the 2013 season.

Baseball Opens 2013 Season At George Washington This Weekend
Quinnipiac baseball opens the 2013 regular-season in Arlington, Va. when it faces George Washington for a three-game series on Mar. 1-3. The Bobcats’ tilt against GW on Friday, Mar. 1 will be the first game played in the Colonials’ new stadium, Barcroft Park. George Washington is 0-6 for the year.

Baseball Picked 8th In 2013 Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll
The Quinnipiac University baseball team was picked to finish 8th out of nine teams in the Northeast Confererence Preseason Coaches’ Poll, as announced by the NEC offices today. Last season, Quinnipiac finished the year in 8th place with an overall record of 8-24 including a 9-38 mark in NEC play.
