Head Baseball Coach Dan "Skip" Gooley To Be Honored At West Haven Twilight League's Third Annual Hot Stove Luncheon On Saturday, Jan. 28
WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac head baseball coach Dan “Skip” Gooley will be the honored guest at the West Haven Twilight League’s 3rd Annual Hot Stove Luncheon on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 12 p.m. at the West River Hall in West Haven, Conn. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased by calling 203-671-0325.
The honor is the latest in many for Gooley, who most recently was chosen as an Elm City Legend in 2009 by the March of Dimes, and organization that has also honored Quinnipiac head men’s ice hockey coach Rand Pecknold, men’s basketball assistant coach and former NBA and UConn stand-out Scott Burrell, as well as Grande, also a member of Quinnipiac’s Athletic Advisory Committee.
Gooley was also inducted into the Quinnipiac Athletic Hall of Fame in 1983. One of four coaches in Quinnipiac Athletics history to reach the 300-win mark, Gooley currently sits at 395 wins at Quinnipiac, and 496 all-time including a stint at University of Hartford, and will become just the second coach in the school’s history, after legendary coach and athletic director Burt Kahn, to reach 400 wins.
