Baseball's Game At Brown Cancelled Due To Inclement Weather

Quinnipiac University's baseball game at Brown University, scheduled for Tuesday, April 5 at 3:30 p.m. in Providence, R.I., has been canceled due to inclement weather and will not be rescheduled. Quinnipiac is currently scheduled to host Dartmouth on Wednesday, April 6 at 3 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Baseball Field in Hamden, Conn. With the threat of more inclement weather, Bobcat fans are urged to refer to the Official Website of Quinnipiac Athletics, www.QuinnipiacBobcats.com, for up-to-the-minute schedule changes as well as the latest news, scores and highlights.

The Bobcats host Monmouth this weekend in a meeting of the Northeast Conference's two first place teams. The Bobcats will play a nine-inning game on Friday, April 8, followed by a pair of seven-inning games on Saturday, April 9 at 12 p.m. On Sunday, April 10, Quinnipiac will host Katie Vashon Day. Katie was a student employee in the Quinnipiac Sports Information office before passing from a brief illness. Every year, Quinnipiac Athletics and Phi Sigma Sigma, Katie's sorority, honor Katie's memory. Her father, Jim, will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch while Phi Sigma Sigma will hold a bake sale to raise money for teh Katie Vashon Endowment at Camp Sunshine in Casco, Maine. The money raised allows for two children suffering from chronic illnesses and their families to spend one week each summer together at the camp.
