Baseball Completes Four-Game Sweep Of Mount St. Mary's With 3-2 and 7-2 Wins

The Quinnipiac University baseball team completed its four-game, Northeast Conference sweep of Mount St. Mary's with a pair of wins in a doubleheader at E.T. Straw Family Stadium in Emmitsburg, Md. Quinnipiac won the first game, 3-2, before bouncing back with a 7-2 win in the nightcap. Kyle Nisson (Wallingford, Conn.) had four hits in the doubleheader. Quinnipiac improves to 7-1 in NEC play while Mount St. Mary's slides to 2-6 on the season.

Nisson was 2-for-2 with an RBI double in the first game and 2-for-5 in the second game. George Dummar (Branford, Conn.) improved to 3-1 on the season after holding the Mount to two runs on eight hits over six innings. Andrew Rinaldi (East Rockaway, N.Y.) came on in relief in the seventh inning with the bases loaded and pitched the Bobcats out of the jam for his team-leading third save of the year.

In the second game, Chris Migani (Orange, Conn.) was 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored while Joe Poletsky (Riverside, Conn.) collected two hits and scored two runs. Nisson also had two hits, while Mike Bartlett (Milfrod, Conn.) was 2-for-3 with an RBI single and a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the seventh inning. Amanti also had two hits and drove in two runs. Anthony Cinelli (Wall, N.J.) improved to 3-0 on the year after pitching seven innings of scoreless ball, holding the Mount to seven hits. Nick Fabrizio (Peabody, Mass.) pitched the final two innings.

Quinnipiac is back in action on Wednesday, April 30 when they take on Yale in a non-conference match-up at 3 p.m. at Yale Field in New Haven, Conn.
