Alex Russow became the first Quinnipiac freshman to win the Akadema/NEC Rookie of the Week award since Chris Migani won the honor on April 27, 2009. He is also the eighth Quinnipiac player to win the weekly award since the NEC began honoring first-year players in 2000. He is also the eighth Quinnipiac player in NEC history to win the Pitcher of the Week award. Andy Mayer was the last Quinnipiac pitcher to receive the honor, on May 11, 2009.

including four starts...Gave up 28 earned runs over 42 innings
pitched...In his first collegiate appearance, he gave up one run on
four hits over two innings against North Carolina State on Mar.

Duke on Mar. 9...Pitched 8 1/3 scoreless innings in relief for his
first career victory against Sacred Heart on Apr. 3...He also
struck out a season-high six batters in the victory...Improved to
