Quinnipiac will host No. 20/19 University of Connecticut on
Tuesday, May 18 at 3 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Baseball Field in
Hamden, Conn. Quinnipiac will play its final home regular-season
game of the season, and last non-conference match-up of 2010. The
Bobcats are 14-35 on the year while UConn is 41-11.
Northeast Conference Playoff Picture
Bryant (22-6) sits in first place in the NEC standings are not
eligible to play in the 2010 NEC Tournament. Sacred Heart (19-9)
became the first team in the NEC to clinch a tournament spot after
sweeping a four-game series against Monmouth last weekend. Central
Connecticut (15-13) sits in third place, in position to take the
No. 2 seed in the tourney, followed by Quinnipiac, Monmouth and
Wagner (all at 13-15) tied for fourth place. This weekend,
Quinnipiac travels to Wagner, Sacred Heart and Bryant face-off,
Central Connecticut faces Long Island, and Monmouth plays Fairleigh
Dickinson.

Ben Farina (Waterford, Conn./Waterford) batted .316 (6-19) over
five games for the week. Farina saw an 18-game hitting streak, the
longest at Quinnipiac since Gabe Guerino completed the feat last
season, end against Bryant on Friday, May 14. Farina was 3-for-5
against UMass on Tuesday, before going 0-for-6 in the first game of
the Bobcats' NEC series against Bryant this weekend.

Leader
The Bobcats' leading hitter bounced back in the last two games of
the four-game set with a 1-for-3 day with a double and two runs
scored in the second half of a doubleheader on Friday and a 2-for-5
day that include two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored. Farina
leads the team in average (.345), hits (68), doubles (16) and is
second in slugging percentage (.457) and on-base percentage
(.387).

Farina's 68 hits tie Ryan Rizzo's 2007 mark for the fourth best
single-season total in Quinnipiac history, while his 177 career
hits rank 11th all-time and 9th in Quinnipiac's Division I history.
His 16 doubles this season are the 16th also rank fourth for a
season.

Series Migs
Chris Migani (Orange, Conn./Amity) batted .389 (7-18) for the week
with two RBI and two runs scored. Migani currently carries a
team-best five-game hitting streak. For the year, he is batting
.305 (46-151) with seven doubles, five homeruns, 29 RBI and 26 runs
scored.
