The
Quinnipiac University baseball team will face Michigan State
University in a doubleheader played at Flour Field at West End
Stadium in Greenville, S.C. The two games were originally scheduled
to be played on Friday and Saturday, but because of potential
inclement weather, Saturday's game was moved to Friday, March 13 as
part of a twin-bill set for a 2:15 p.m. start. Quinnipiac enters
the game searching for their first win of the season after opening
the year at 0-9. Michigan State has lost 10 straight games and
stands at 1-11.

Doyle, from Manchester, N.H., has posted a .300 or better average
in the last two seasons with Quinnipiac, but early on in 2009, he
is showcasing some power numbers. In his last three games, Doyle
has two homeruns, including a grandslam yesterday in a loss to the
College of Charleston. Doyle Currently leads Quinnipiac in homeruns
(2), RBI (7) and slugging percentage (.515). He's also second on
the team with 10 hits in 33 at-bats (.303) and runs (5).

Farina hit his first homerun of the season in a 10-4 loss to Duke
on Wednesday night. Farina currently leads Quinnipiac in hits (11)
and doubles (3).

Emamian, who was used sparingly over the last two seasons as a
back-up catcher has stepped into the starting left field spot for
Quinnipiac. Emamian has put up solid offensive numbers thus far,
hitting .313 (10-32) with two doubles, three RBI and a team-best
six runs scored. Emamian also leads the team in walks (5) and
on-base percentage (.421).
