Former Bobcat Chris Gloor Featured In San Mateo Daily Journal
Former Quinnipiac University standout Chris Gloor '09 was recently
featured in the San Mateo (Calif.) Daily Journal in an article
written by Terry Bernal. Gloor is off to an outstanding start to
his professional career after the San Francisco Giants selected the
6-6 lefthanded pitcher in the 17th round of the Major League
Baseball Draft this past June and assigned him to the low-A
affiliate, the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes.
Gloor had a noticable week, picking up four wins in four
consecutive relief appearances. In his first start on Wednesday,
July 29, Gloor took the no-decision after pitching four innings -
prearranged by the club's management - and scattering two runs in
an eventual 4-3 win by the Volcanoes. Gloor is now 4-0 with a 1.40
ERA as well as 23 strikeouts and just five walks in 19 1/3 innings
pitched.
