#$%^inaugural class. The Elm City Legends reception, presented by the March of Dimes, is an evening dedicated to recognizing the New Haven Region's &#xD;

It was the second time that Gloor was drafted after he was taken in the 39th round of last year's draft by the Detroit Tigers. Gloor was one of four players from the Northeast Conference taken in the draft.</description>

      <description>Andy Mayer (Trumbull, Conn.) broke the Quinnipiac all-time record for wins with his 22nd career victory in a 4-2 win against Long Island in the first game of a Northeast Conference doubleheader in Brooklyn, N.Y. The senior right-handed pitcher, making the final appearance of his career, gave up two runs while scattering nine hits over seven innings. Mayer struck out five Blackbirds on the afternoon. Senior catcher Mike Marmo (Brookville, N.Y.) made a diving catch behind the plate for the final out of the game. Quinnipiac also took the second game of the doubleheader, 7-2, when it received its second complete game of the day, also from a senior, as Mike Oskandy (Bethel, Conn.) picked up the win on the hill. Quinnipiac improves to 11-16 in the NEC and 18-33 overall while Long Island goes to 9-40 overall and 5-21 in conference play.</description>

      <description>The Quinnipiac  University baseball team split a Northeast Conference doubleheader with Fairleigh Dickinson University, with the Knights taking the first game 10-9 before Quinnipiac responded with an 18-2 drubbing in the second game. Senior Brian Monack (Branford, Conn.) and  Sophomore Joe Poletsky (Riverside, Conn.) each connected for a pair of homeruns in the doubleheader, with Poletsky putting out two in the first game and Monack with two round-trippers in the night cap. Poletsky drove in seven runs in the two games, while Monack drove in five. Quinnipiac now stands at 12-25 overall and 5-10 in NEC play while FDU goes to 10-25 and 5-10 in conference play.</description>
