HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac University’s Department of Athletics & Recreation, in conjunction with the TD Bank Sports Center Ticket Office, have introduced the “Bobcat Fan Zone” app, available for iPhone and Android devices.
"The collaborative effort of the QU Spirit Group, the TD Bank Sports Center and QU Athletics brought us this outstanding Bobcats Fan Zone App for the iPhone and Android mobile devices,” Director of Athletics Jack McDonald said. “This one-of-a-kind app allows Bobcat fans the ability to accumulate points by attending Quinnipiac games and events. Fans can check-in at the game, take photos and watch and/or listen to our games from YouTube and WQUN."
The new app, available on iTunes and Android markets, is an incentive based fan interaction application. “Bobcat Fan Zone” allows Quinnipiac fans to discover upcoming events and “check-in” to earn points redeemable for promotional giveaways. In addition, the App features social media links to Quinnipiac Athletics’ Official Facebook and Twitter accounts as well as live audio provided by Quinnipiac’s commercial radio station, AM 1220 WQUN, and student-radio station QBSN.
Quinnipiac’s newest multimedia venture is also available through the new app, as Bobcat fans can access “QUTube”, Quinnipiac Athletics’ Official YouTube page. New for the 2013-14 athletic season are free live video streams of ever home event for all of Quinnipiac’s 21 varsity teams. In conjunction with Quinnipiac’s TD Bank Sports Center’s new high-definition video boards, on display at High Point Solutions Arena and Lender Court, all video will be available in HD for Quinnipiac’s nationally-ranked men’s and women’s ice hockey home games as well as all men’s and women’s basketball games and acrobatics & tumbling home events.
