Following the nationally-ranked Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey
team’s game against Princeton on New England Sports Network
(NESN) on Friday,Dec. 7 at 7 p.m., the latest installment of the
Emmy nominated Bobcats’ Unleashed in HD will air on NESN. It
will also air on Saturday, Dec. 8 between women's basketball's game
against Holy Cross and men's basketball's game against Vermont,
both of which can be seen on NESN at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.,
respectively.
"We are once again thrilled with Bobcats Unleashed in HD," director of athletics Jack McDonald said. "Peter Sumby, Billy Mecca, Bill Schweizer and our entire student crew have produced a state of the art HD feature on our student-athletes and all that is good about intercollegiate athletics. We are also very grateful to NESN for providing us with this airtime so that millions can see Bobcats Unleashed all over the world"
The show, produced twice a year, will be hosted for the third straight year by Quinnipiac senior associate athletic director Billy Mecca, Bill Schweizer and Jayme Parker. This edition of Bobcats Unleashed showcases two trips abroad by the women’s basketball and field hockey teams; the incredible story of men’s lacrosse student-athlete Blake Gattison’s journey to Quinnipiac; a behind-the-scenes look at recruiting; and a segment on community service featuring several Quinnipiac teams. In addition, “Bobcat Bits” wraps-up the Fall 2012 semester, highlighting the championship seasons of women’s cross country, men’s soccer and women’s rugby.
The half-hour long Quinnipiac feature show was
produced and directed by Peter Sumby, written by Schweizer and
Mecca and crewed by School of Communications students Jeff
Abrahams, Chelsea Adamchak, Stephanie Alwardt, Maura Desharnais,
Margaret Fitzgerald, Nick Giglio, Nick Swanson, Eliza Dox, Alyssa
Meyer, Ryan Meunier, James Cappadoro, and Jackie
Izzo. The show was shot and edited in high-definition
at the Ed McMahon Mass Communications Center and aired on the NESN
High Definition channel.
