Quinnipiac Sports Information
The Quinnipiac Sports Information Office serves as the intermediary between the Bobcats' 21 varsity programs and local, regional and national media outlets.
Quinnipiac Sports Information works closely with the coaches, student-athletes and Quinnipiac University to enhance the publicity and showcase the accomplishments of all Bobcats student-athletes on the field of competition, in the classroom as well as the community through the Department of Athletics and Recreations’ Positive Play program.
Quinnipiac Sports Information is at the service of coaches, student-athletes and members of the media 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For credentials to Quinnipiac athletics events, please contact the sports information contact for the specific sports. Please see the contact directory below for more information.
All interviews with Quinnipiac student-athletes and coaches must be coordinated with a member of the Quinnipiac Sports Information Office and must be given at least 24 hours’ notice unless breaking news has occurred.
In addition to coordinating news conferences and interviews, the Quinnipiac Sports Information Office is also responsible for the Official Athletics Website of Quinnipiac Athletics, www.QuinnipiacBobcats.com, while also providing statistical and historical information to members of the media. Quinnipiac Sports Information Office also serves as game-day managers and liaisons for the Northeast Conference (NEC), ECAC Hockey, National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA), MetNY Rugby and the NCAA.
Working Press Credentials
Press and photograph credentials are issued to members of
the working media only. These credentials can be obtained from the
sports information office. For men's and women's basketball and ice
hockey, passes will be mailed or held at the media credential
check-in point at the TD Bank Sports Center. For all other sports,
please coordinate coverage by contacting the proper sports
information contact. Passes should be requested no later than 24
hours prior to a contest to ensure space availability.
Press Box Facilities/Services
The press area at the TD Bank Sports Center is accessible
from the ground level via the press box entryway. For all other
sports, direction to the press area will be coordinated by the
sports information contact for that sport. Per NCAA regulations,
only credentialed members of the media, coaches, league officials
and designated administrators are allowed into this area. All
members of the working media will be provided with extensive game
notes, statistics, line charts and rosters approximately 90 minutes
before each contest. Scoring and shot charts will be provided at
the end of each period, while a complete statistical package will
be distributed immediately following the contest.
Post-Game Interviews
The Quinnipiac locker rooms are closed to the media both
for home and road games. A member of the Quinnipiac sports
information staff will assist you in the interview process.
Interviews with opposing players must be arranged with the opposing
team's SID. Reporters can file from the press box following the
game. Only credentialed members of the working media will be
granted access to coaches and players following all contests.
Interview Policies
All requests for interviews must be conducted through the
sports information office. Requests must be made at least one day
in advance to allow the player/coach to be properly notified. At no
time will the player's dormitory telephone or cell phone number be
released to the media. However, if a telephone interview is
necessary, arrangements can be made for the student-athlete to
contact that member of the media.
Practice Coverage
The Quinnipiac athletic teams practice at set times during
both the fall, winter and spring semesters. All Quinnipiac players
and coaches are available for interviews prior to, or following,
practice with proper notification to the sports information office.
Interviews are not granted on game days unless there are
extenuating circumstances.
Radio/TV Information
The TD Bank Sports Center has phone lines as well as
ethernet and wireless connections available for visiting radio.
Please contact the sports information office at least one week
prior to a scheduled broadcast to ensure availability.
