HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac University will celebrate the 23rd Annual National Girls & Women In Sports Day by offering free admission to local girls attending the women’s basketball game on Saturday, Feb. 7 at noon against Bryant University, with the opportunity to perform during the halftime show. Admission for adults accompanying all participating children is $1. The Bobcats, who are currently in fourth place in NEC standings with a 6-3 league record, tip-off against Bryant University at noon on Feb. 7 at the TD Banknorth Sports Center.
Quinnipiac University cheerleaders and dance teams will teach a short routine to any girls (ages 14 and under) who participate in the halftime show, while several area youth cheerleading teams will also perform. All participants in the halftime show must arrive at the TD Banknorth Sports Center (305 Sherman Avenue in Hamden, Conn.) no later than 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 7. The girls will learn and practice the routine, and then break for lunch (not provided by QU) prior to the game. Following the game Quinnipiac players, cheerleaders and dance teams will be available for a free autograph session.
