HANOVER, N.H. - The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team lost to Dartmouth, 4-3, in an ECAC Hockey game played at Thompson Arena in Hanover, N.H. The loss drops the Bobcats to 13-11-2 overall and 7-7-0 in ECAC Hockey play. The Big Green improve to 6-14-0 overall and 4-9-0 in league play.

Senior Greg Holt (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) assisted on two of Quinnipiac's three goals. Eric Lampe (Madison, Wisc.), Spencer Heichman (Yorba Linda, Calif.) and Russell Goodman (Saskatoon, Sask.) all scored for the Bobcats.

Dartmouth took the early lead with a goal three minutes into the first period. Following a turnover by the Bobcats deep in their own zone, Nick Walsh took control of the puck below the face-off circle to the right of Quinnipiac goalie Dan Clarke (Belleville, Ont.). Walsh's shot from point-blank range was kicked away by Clarke to the left of the goal where Dustin Walsh took picked it up and deposited his sixth goal of the year.

Quinnipiac was quick to respond with the tying goal coming at the 16:23 mark, just 37 seconds later. Zach Hansen (White Bear Lake, Minn.) sent the puck up-ice where Scott Zurevinski (Saskatoon, Sask.) collected the puck in the corner and skated behind the Dartmouth goal. After he centered it to senior Jean-Marc Beaudoin (St. Paul, Alb.) in front of the crease, the senior captain put a shot on goal that Dartmouth goalie James Mello kicked away. Mello's save ended up on Eric Lampe's (Madison, Wisc.) stick with a wide-open net. Lampe's goal was his 11^th of the season, while Beaudoin picked up his 15^th assist of the year. Zurevinski was credited with his 13^th helper of the season on the play.

Walsh scored his second goal of the period at the 13:05 mark when he blasted a shot past Clarke to stake Dartmouth to a 2-1 lead. Evan Stephens was credited with an assist on the go-ahead goal. Nick Walsh was also credited with an assist.

Bobcat sophomore Spencer Heichman (Yorba Linda, Calif.) tied the game at 2-2 at the 5:38 mark of the second period. As the Bobcats worked the puck around the perimeter, freshman Loren Barron (Glendora, Calif.) took a pass from Greg Holt (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.). Barron had a look at the Dartmouth goal and unleashed a shot on Mello. Heichman, who was sitting out in front of Mello, tipped Barron's shot past the goalie to tie the game at 2-2. The goal was Heichman's second of the season, while Barron picked up his first collegiate assist. Holt picked up his 12^th of the year.

Dartmouth quickly regained the lead when Stephens scored his fifth goal of the year at the 7:03 mark. The goal, which came on the power play, came on a one-timer from the point. Doug Jones got his 12^th assist of the year on the play while Adam Estoclet was credited with his 11^th as Dartmouth took a 3-2 lead.

Russell Goodman (Saskatoon, Sask.) tied the game at the 13:21 mark of the second period with his second goal of the season. Holt picked up his second assist of the night when he dropped a pass behind the Dartmouth net. Freshman Clay Harvey (Gull Lake, Sask.) picked up the puck in the corner and centered a pass to Goodman who was crashing the net. The assist was Holt's 13^th of the year while Harvey picked up his fifth as Quinnipiac tied the game at 3-3 with less than six minutes to play in the second period.

Dartmouth scored the game-winner with 4:27 remaining in regulation. Peter Boldt had the puck above the left face-off circle before sending to Scott Fleming in the slot on the opposite post. Fleming then dropped a pass off to Estoclet on the door step to give Dartmouth a one-goal lead with less than five minutes to play in the game.

The Bobcats return home next weekend when it hosts Cornell and Colgate at the TD Bank Sports Center on the York Hill Campus of Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn. Quinnipiac will square off against Cornell on Friday, Feb. 5 before hosting Colgate on Saturday, Feb. 6. Both games can be viewed live on CBS College Sports, Channel 613 on DirecTV, at 8 p.m. ET.
