HAMDEN, Conn. - Senior Eric Lampe (Madison, Wisc.) had a hand in four of Quinnipiac's five goals as the Bobcats' cruised to a 5-1 ECAC Hockey win against Harvard University before a sell-out crowd of 3,317 at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn. Lampe's three goals and one assist helped the Bobcats stay perfect in league play at 3-0-0 in ECAC Hockey and 7-1-0 overall. Harvard drops to 1-3-0 overall and in league contests. Lampe's second-career hat trick was also the second one this season for Quinnipiac after Mike Atkinson had a three-goal effort in a 4-2 win against Clarkson last week.

"I'm proud of my team," head coach Rand Pecknold said. "I thought we played hard tonight. We weren't perfect but we battled. [Eric] Lampe was one of our best players on the ice, again, tonight. There is obviously some chemistry developing on that line of Lampe, [Jean-Marc] Beaudoin and [Scott] Zurevinski."

Lampe pushed his goal total for the year to nine, while also picking up his fifth assist. He now leads the team with 14 points, and is the first Bobcat player with two multiple-goal games this season. Senior captain Jean-Marc Beaudoin (Edmonton, Alb.), who entered the game with a goal and an assist through five games played, had a career-high three assists. Brandon Wong (Victoria, B.C.), the team's scoring leading with 11 points entering the game against Harvard, picked up two assists in the win.

"It's so easy to find Lampe," Beaudoin said. "He finds the open area and he gets to the net. Tonight was a great game, and I think our line really clicked for the first time this season."

Scott Zurevinski (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), who played on the same line with Lampe and Beaudoin, had his fifth goal of the season while freshman Jeremy Langlois (Tempe, Ariz.) scored his first career goal.  Quinnipiac also ran their record to 36-0-3 in their last 39 games that featured a Bobcats' lead heading into the third period.

Lampe scored the first goal of the game, just 32 seconds before the end of the first period, to stake the Bobcats to a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission. Lampe was set up on the play by Wong and Beaudoin.

Harvard freshman Michael Biega tied the game just 1:30 into the second period with his first career goal. Freshman Louis Leblanc picked up his fourth assist of the year, while Alex Killorn also got a helper on the Crimson's only goal of the night. Killorn hooked up with Leblanc who put a shot on goal. Quinnipiac goalie Dan Clarke (Belleville, Ont.) was able to stop the initial shot, but Biega picked up the rebound and drove it home.

From there, it was all Quinnipiac as the Bobcats rattled off four unanswered goals over the final 38:30 of the game. At the 3:21 mark of the second period, Beaudoin's attempt at a wrap-around was stopped by Harvard goalie Kyle Richter, sending the puck out to the slot. Lampe picked it up, walked it through the defense and then sent a back-door pass to Zurevinski who was waiting on the far post to give Quinnipiac a 2-1 lead. Lampe added his second goal of the game when Wong dug the puck out of the corner and left it for Lampe. Lampe picked it out and skated out to the half boards where he put a shot on goal. Intended for Wong, the shot bounced off the skate of a Harvard defenseman and into the Crimson's goal to give Quinnipiac a 3-1 lead.

Lampe scored again at the 10:53 mark of the third period, this time on assists from Beaudoin and Zach Hansen (White Bear Lake, Minn.). Hansen's assist was his third of the season. Langlois' first career goal came on an empty net, with an assist to senior assistant captain Mike Atkinson (Sparta, N.J.).

In goal, Clarke stopped 27 of 28 shots he saw for his third straight victory, running his record to 4-1-0 for the year. Richter took the loss for Harvard after recording 28 saves.

Quinnipiac closes out their four-game home stand  when they host Dartmouth College on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at the TD Bank Sports Center on the York Hill Campus of Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn.
