HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac University freshmen men's tennis player Andrew Weeden (Martinsville, N.J.) has been named the Northeast Conference Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week, the league office today announced. The award is the third of the season for Weeden, in addition to an NEC Player of the Week award in November. Weeden was a double winner as the Bobcats swept Holy Cross on Sunday.

Weeden paired with senior John Hughes (Springfield, Mass.) to defeat Matt Wierzel and John Burke, 8-1, at No. 1 doubles, before beating Burke at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1. Weeden is now 5-1 in the spring, including an undefeated 3-0 in singles matches.
